I like to lean into the quirky. I enjoy knowing the rules enough to break them.

The Art

I save my photographic images for the realist side of me. My art is abstract or abstracted — sometimes with a feminist message, sometimes a nod to punk and pop culture. Every piece is a response to the world around me: a landscape setting, an emotion, a reaction.

My style? Whimsical, contemporary, edgy, colourful, quirky. I want people to see my work and say, “Oh wow — that looks funky and cool. Look at those colours! Look at the way Karin has desaturated her palette and used limited hues!”

Medium & Process

I work primarily in oils and acrylics, alongside mixed media. My small original pieces start at NZ$400. I don’t do huge — my reference photos aren’t super high-res — but I believe in making every inch count.

Vibe

I do NOT want my store to look like everyone else’s. It should be ultra-refined and arty. Minimal, clean — Nordic and Japanese in feel. Desaturated colours, dark greys, and a clear message: I am an artist, first and foremost.

Beyond original paintings, I offer prints, mugs, tea towels, hoodies — all carrying artwork that matters to me.

Based in New Zealand

I live and work in Aotearoa. Shipping is via NZ Post or NZ Courier. I create weekly, so there’s always something new in the works.
